The customer service representative is another name for Telephone Representative. It can also be refereed as customer request over the telephone and handles business function. This type of occupation is to work on a variety of environments in call centers.

The education required for this profession can be very dependant on various types of industries, or it may be also dependant on the type of business. Most of the company requires the qualifications of at least a school diploma otherwise GED. The Qualification required by any employer is good communication skills in more than two languages, typing skills and basics in computers, with little or no experience.

The training from the employer may be most of the employers having specific guide lines and procedure for Telephone Representative Job. They will provide training to new employees about their products and their services which are offered by the employer. The responsibilities which are included in Telephone Representative Job are responding to the incoming calls, and making the out going calls to provide their services to the internal and external customers. These systems require database to log, track and the procedures to answer inquires of customers. The employee has to work on job out look. As reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics from 2008 to 2018, the job growth of this occupation will be 18 percent. The organization and the business are expected to grow and are focused on relation ships of the customers. These were resulting in the increased demand for these professionals. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics the average salary level of this customer service representative is $14.36 per hour in May 2008. The work shift time and weekly-off changes as per the requirements of customers living abroad.
